About
IPPNJ
The Institute for Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy of New Jersey (IPPNJ)
is an organization dedicated to three primary goals: to train practitioners
in the use of psychoanalytic concepts both for analysis and psychotherapy;
to provide the community with a source of quality, in-depth, growth-oriented
treatment; and to provide practitioners with a warm community for
the exchange of ideas and continuing intellectual growth.
The Institute for Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy of New Jersey (IPPNJ)
is recognized by the State of New Jersey as a non-profit educational
corporation entitled to grant certificates of completion to its graduates.
Its faculty consists of a diverse group of psychoanalysts with extensive
post-graduate training from more than 20 reputable psychoanalytic
institutes. The overriding goal of IPPNJ is the promotion of the highest
attainable level of competence among mental health professionals who
practice psychoanalytically informed psychotherapy, supervision, teaching,
and consultation.
IPPNJ
is the largest psychoanalytic institute in New Jersey. Courses are
offered in various locations in the state: northern New Jersey,
the Essex and Morris County region, and the central Jersey area
comprising New Brunswick, Princeton, and Somerset, Hunterdon, and
Monmouth counties. IPPNJ grants certificates of completion in basic
psychoanalytic concepts after a one-year introductory program, in
psychodynamic psychotherapy at the end of a three-year sequence
of courses, and in psychoanalysis after three more years of training.
Up to three years of the six-year overall program may be waived
by applicants with prior psychoanalytic education. For more information,
see the Training section.
